This in-depth 4-week class will cover:

• Screenmelt

• Kiln-carving

• Circle and Curve Cutting

• Strip construction

• Glass reaction info

• New pattern bar technique and volume calculations

• Advanced cutting techniques (curves, thin strips)

• More detailed kiln schedules

• Problem-solving information

• More detailed coldworking/finishing techniques

You will make 1 finished 8” piece, 1 finished 6” round strip construction piece, a 6” kiln carved plate and several “parts” pieces you can use at a later date. Come away with new and detailed knowledge you can take back to your studio and use when you rent time at CGC.

Provided are kiln firings, all tools, and materials needed for projects, and safety equipment.

You will also receive 3 pieces of 8" x 8" sheet glass (one clear and one color and one white), several pieces of 4” x 4” color and clear glass squares, scrap glass, and accessory glass (stringers, frit, etc) for the screenmelt, kiln carving and pattern bar projects.
